Charmed, I'm Sure [#40]
Konichiwa from Tokyo,
There is a CRAZY NORTH KOREAN POISONING PLOT investigation going on but I still decided to come to Japan for the usual enemy of the people things, because I'm single momming it in Korea next week. That is daunting, but I did successfully look after two toddlers one time and live-blogged it.
Anyway, onward, to the links!
What I Read (And Heard*)
Depending on how you look at it, 2017 could be the best year ever. What effective protest could look like. Why American conservatives still refuse to believe in climate change. The Donald Trump ethics tracker. The Steve Bannon parodies on The Onion make me laugh-cry. How to avoid being psychologically destroyed by your newsfeed. *Trying to avoid Trump for a week. Help, we're exhausted. On being an enemy of the people. On being a cougar. On getting closure. China's parachute generation. Let's never forget Japanese internment. "The moment we no longer have a free press, anything can happen." Mark Zuckerberg pays lip service to journalism while destroying it. And just so we don't end this section on a negative note, here's a $20 hack for a better chair.
What I Wrote/Talked About
Kim Jong Un's brother is dead, but why? They nabbed some suspects, as South Korea pins the blame on the regime. My devotion to 7-11's in Asia. Loading up on protective charms. The birthday egg roll.
